Database

Database Development - Assignment 1

My friend Adeyoma is concerned that, at the moment, his shops do not have a database. He would like to track the items in stock and the suppliers from which they were ordered. He would also like to keep a record of customers and their spending habits.

I will help him to create a database for them.

I have to create a presentation which explains the tools and techniques are used in the two different databases. Below is the slideshow I created.

This is the assignment that I did. Originally it was in PowerPoint but I uploaded it to Google Docs and then published it to the web.  After that I could use embed code to put it in this section of my assignment.

If you use the forward arrow you can scroll through the presentation. It will explain various features and functions of databases. These include table design and data validation to more advanced features such as relationships between tables and form design,

The presentation covers two very different databases. One is for an adventure activity college and allows users to book new students on to course. The other is for a company which allows the public to rent out cars.

Where you can see yellow boxes is where I talked more about how the databases increase productivity, usability and accuracy which are all very important in databases.

The presentation ends with what I thought were the advantages and disadvantages of the two databases.
